Making a Difference
Can one person make a difference? Yes they can! Every day a child suffers in silence. Why? Most kids and teens don’t realize that there is help or don’t know who or how to ask. But there are people who want to make a difference and do. In the last fiscal year Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area had over 1,600 hours of face to face contact with over 3,000 clients. Our staff has a passion for wanting to make a difference in a child’s life. That passion is present every day. Families come to us in a time of crisis. As a parent we don’t want to see our children suffer physically, mentally or emotionally. Children and teens whose inability to function at home, in school, or in the community at large may be in need of behavioral health services.
It’s time to encourage and support those that suffer from mental health problems as they reach out for help. This Giving Tuesday, November 28th, each one of us has an opportunity to invest in a child’s future and make sure they receive the services needed. Family Service Association is proud to be participating in this 24-hour fundraising challenge that brings non-profits, donors, and their community together supporting a common mission; to support the spirit of giving to charitable causes. Consider making an investment in a child on #GivingTuesday and thanks to the Grand Victoria Foundation all gifts will be matched up to a total of $4,000.
