Yesenia Saladana
Manager of Care Coordination
Yesenia Saldana serves as a Manager of Care Coordination at Family Services Association of Greater Elgin. She first came to the Agency in May 2022 as the Mental Health Juvenile Justice Clinician. In that role, Yesenia worked closely with clients and families who were at risk or involved in the Juvenile Justice System. Working collaboratively with the client and family was essential to provide advocacy while working the Kane County court services, providing case management and/or individual counseling , all while keeping a trauma informed lens. Yesenia completed her bachelor's and master's Degree through Aurora University. Through her internship experience with Elgin Police Department, she worked in a micro and macro level capacity to the city and with all ages, socioeconomical background, and cultures.
As a first-generation Latina, it is important for Yesenia to continue to advocate for Latino communities as well as bring awareness and break stigmas surrounding mental health.
Yesenia is passionate about community services and the ability to provide services to all those who seek it. It is her hope to continue to shine the light onto mental health as well as being a support and asset to the community.
Outside of work, Yesenia enjoys getting cozy with her family and a good book. They are typically accompanied by their four chihuahuas.
